Resúmen
La consideración de los hechos religiosos es indispensable para la comprensión de procesos de territorialización. Las religiones permiten esencialmente pensar los territorios, organizarlos y controlarlos, sin que estos tres aspectos sean realmente disociables (D. Dory, 1995). Este trabajo considera la difusión de templos y/o casas de fe, en diferentes épocas y a diferentes escalas. En tal sentido, se contemplan dos ejes de análisis: de una parte la organización del espacio y la difusión de iglesias católicas en el territorio provincial, de otra el uso religioso del suelo urbano frente a otros usos, a escala local. Desde este encuadre el trabajo se enmarca en la Geografía Humanística y recibe los aportes del enfoque Locacional y se proponen los siguientes objetivos: – Analizar la espacialización de templos católicos en el territorio provincial. – Distinguir comparativamente el uso religioso del espacio urbano con otros usos de la vida social. La expansión de templos católicos caracteriza el período de conquista, colonización y de organización departamental del territorio santiagueño. Se busca relacionar, con el aporte de un análisis cartográfico, el proceso de ocupación del territorio del poder político y de la religión Hoy se advierte además en la provincia, la presencia de templos de otros credos, como manifestaciones alternativas de fe. En la ciudad de Santiago del Estero se observa competencia del uso religioso del suelo, frente a los propios de la recreación y del ocio. También concurren otros usos que surgen de decisiones administrativas, las que no contemplan en la asignación de porciones del espacio público, los fines trascendentes que podrían movilizar a la comunidad. El uso funcional de la religión, expresado a través de templos, queda rezagado o no aparece, en la dinámica expansión de la ciudad. Este trabajo pretende realizar un inventario cartográfico de lo religioso en la construcción urbana santiagueña, para futuros análisis del rol de lo sagrado en la atribución simbólica, organización y control del espacio y en la evolución de lo vivido en la ciudad. Podría significar un aporte al ordenamiento territorial al momento de tomar decisiones de planificación urbanísticas orientadas a destinar una porción del espacio público a la función religiosa.

Abstract
The paper considers the distribution of Catholic churches and other faiths at different times and at different scales. In this sense, includes two main lines of analysis. First, the spatial organization and dissemination of Catholic churches in the province, addressing the spread of churches both in the period of conquest, colonization, and departmental organization, in the province of Santiago del Estero. We briefly seek to relate from the input mapping, the process of occupation of territory by the political power and religion. On the other hand, the religious use of urban land in relation to other local uses, we want to show through cartographic expressions, the existence of Catholic churches and other faiths, in the cities of the province. In the city of Santiago del Estero, we also aim to contrast the religious use of urban space with the use of public space from the administrative and recreation point of view. The work belongs to Humanistic Geography, from the perspectives of Social Geography and receives contributions from the Location approach. From this framework proposes the following objectives: – Analyze the spatial organization of Catholic churches in the province. – Comparatively distinguish religious use of urban space with other uses of social life. The first goal leads to the search for information on the establishment of Catholic parishes and chapels, its location in space of the province chronologically and its relationship with the organization of the province. The second goal will be achieved with a survey of temples in the province and local level, by analyzing the different uses of urban land. The province is characterized by giving evidence of deep Catholic faith. The expansion in the territory of parishes and chapels, characterizes the periods of conquest, colonization and departmental organization. Today can be seen, the presence of temples of other faiths as alternative manifestations of faith in the population. Also, in the city of Santiago del Estero territorial jurisdiction of the religious use of the ground is observed, as well as their own recreation and leisure. Thus, the functional use of religion, expressed through temples, fell behind or is missing in the dynamic expansion of the city. If the consideration of religious facts is indispensable for understanding the processes of land occupation, this paper intends to make a map on the presence of the sacred in urban construction of Santiago del Estero, with a view to future analysis of the role of religion in the allocation symbolic, the organization and control of space, and the evolution of what was lived in the city.
