Resúmen El presente trabajo intenta hacer un recorrido que permita responder a algunos interrogantes planteados respecto a los cambios que introdujeron las nuevas tecnologías en relación a la cultura y a las formas de comunicación e intercambio entre las personas; la actual convergencia de medios frente a la tradicional concepción mediática y las prácticas de consumo en correspondencia con las nuevas propuestas tecnológicas, al tiempo que describe alguna características de la vida moderna como la incorporación y naturalización de las pantallas en la vida cotidiana. También aborda la cuestión de la construcción de las identidades juveniles en tensión con sus prácticas culturales y la confrontación entre la cultura letrada y la cultura hipermedial en los ámbitos educativos. En este sentido, el artículo pretende abrir el espacio a la reflexión para quienes trabajan en la educación en el sentido de acercarse a los jóvenes para intentar acortar las distancias que los separan y poder entender mejor sus modos de ver y percibir el mundo. Esto permitirá pensar también nuevas estrategias que permitan propiciar espacios colaborativos de aprendizaje.

Abstract This paper attempts to go through a path which helps us answer some of the questions arisen from the changes that new technologies brought in not only to culture but also to the ways of communication or personal interchanges; the current convergence of the mass media as opposed to the traditional way of conceiving ways of communication and the consuming practices in correspondence with the new technologic proposals, and at the same time it describes some of the characteristics of modern life like the incorporation and naturalization of screens in daily life. It also deals with the matter of the construction of youngster identity in tension with its cultural practices and the confrontation between literate and media culture in the educational scope. As far as all this is concerned, this paper aims to open a reflexive space for educational workers in the sense of coming closer to young people and try to shorter the distance which keeps them apart and thus better understand the way they perceive the world. This will also let us think about new strategies that favor collaborative learning spaces.
